Søndre Bjanes

Akershus  >  Norway

The parking lot for trips further south along Jørholmen is a great place to see smaller birds, woodpeckers and ducks and herons in the bay to the east.

Beschrijving

Søndre Bjanes is a beautiful, elevated spot with a view of the Øyeren delta to the west and south. A landscape of fields, trees and bushes makes it a good habitat for birds such as Putter, Geelgors and tits. Woodpeckers ( Grote Bonte Specht, Kleine Bonte Specht, Groene Specht and Zwarte Specht) thrive in the nearby forests. To the east lies the bay Monsrudvika where you may see Blauwe Reiger and in the spring and fall migration: waders and ducks. Note that during mosquito season (after mid May) bugs can be an annoyance.
