Beschrijving

The Waiatarua Wetland Reserve is a park in the suburb Remuera of Auckland. At its centre is a big restored wetland, where hard to spot Spotless Crake roam, endemic Pāteke (Brown Teal), New Zealand Scaup, and New Zealand Dabchick live. And a Swamp Harrier always glides above the air that is filled with Welcome Swallow. Around the wetland are several walking tracks, with side tracks to platforms and through a small forest. While this is a popular dog walking park, it is still a nice place for birding and one of the best spots to find Shining Bronze Cuckoo in summer in Auckland.
