The area consists of a few small shallow lakes. In winter, 10 species of ducks can be found here, as well as herons. In summer, waders and Lepelaar can be found, as wel as Rietzanger and Snor. But also a chance on nice birds as Zomertaling, Porseleinhoen and Geoorde Fuut.

There are 2 small parking lots at the Meerweg and the Kleihoogt. The area itself can best be explored walking (or cycling).
