Beschrijving
LUMO Conservancy is an environmental gem in southern Kenya, between the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary and Tsavo West National Park. This geographic location, part of the larger Tsavo Ecosystem, makes the Conservancy a crucial wildlife corridor, fostering biodiversity and ensuring free movement for migratory animals, especially elephants.
Encompassing over 46,000 hectares of diverse African landscapes, the Conservancy is a mosaic of open savannahs, rolling hills, riverine woodlands, and waterholes.
All this contributes to also making this place very special for birding with over 300 recorded bird species. This means that you might be able to spot majestic raptors like Tawny Eagle and Bateleur and other interesting birds like Vulturine Guineafowl , Long-tailed Fiscal, White-headed Buffalo-Weaver , Collared Sunbird , Superb Starling , Fischer's Starling , Red-winged Lark, African Grey Hornbill and Spotted Eagle-Owl.
Please note that you can only explore Lions Bluff on foot when accompanied by a guide and ranger from the lodge. The rest of the conservancy can be explored easily in a car.
