The lake is a part of Circeo National Park, consisting of yet other lakes along the coast to the south, a forest, and the Circeo mountain. All are worth a visit, depending on season.
On this place some nice birds you can see are Geoorde Fuut, Lachstern, Dwergarend, Audouins Meeuw, Zwarte Ibis and Bruine Kiekendief.

Italiano: Anatre svernant ma anche molti altri uccelli durante l'inverno. In primavera è un ottimo luogo di sosta per molti migratori. Il lago fa parte del Parco Nazionale del Circeo, che comprende anche altri laghi lungo la costa verso sud, una foresta e il monte Circeo. Meritano tutti una visita, a seconda della stagione.

It is possible to get to the eastern side from Strada Litoranea. Park along the road, just before the bridge over the dyke. Here there are paths to the hides. It is also possible to access the lake from the west. There is a parking place just north of the lake, along the Via Del Lido. From here is possible to walk out along the northern side of the lake.

Italiano: È possibile raggiungere il lato orientale da Strada Litoranea. Parcheggiate lungo la strada, appena prima del ponte sul canale. Qui si trovano i sentieri che conducono ai capanni di osservazione. È anche possibile accedere al lago dal lato occidentale: c'è un parcheggio poco più a nord del lago, lungo Via del Lido. Da qui è possibile camminare lungo la sponda settentrionale.
