La Laghina is a wetland within the Area Naturale Protetta "La Querciola", covering approximately 5 hectares in the municipality of Quarrata. This area, bordered by the Ombrone River, contains small lakes of varying depths, and the primary habitat is marshland (reed beds). The Laghina area is important for the site's balance, which, thanks to interventions such as re-flooding and restoration of typical natural vegetation, has favored the resting and nesting of birds. There are many species of birds that can be spotted in the various seasons, including Wilde Eend, Koereiger, Meerkoet, Waterral, Bijeneter, Bosruiter, Kwak, Staartmees, Zomertaling, Fuut and others.

Italiano: La Laghina è un'area umida, all'interno dell'Area Naturale Protetta "La Querciola", di circa 5ha in un'area fortemente antropizzata nel comune di Quarrata. All'interno di quest'area costeggiata dal fiume Ombrone si trovano diversi specchi d'acqua di varia profondità e l'habitat principale è quello palustre (canneti). L'area La Laghina è importante per l'equilibrio del sito che, grazie a interventi come riallagamento e ripristino della vegetazione spontanea tipica, hanno favorito la sosta e la nidificazione dell'avifauna. Sono molte le specie di uccelli avvistabili nei vari periodi dell'anno.

The Laghina area is located 25 km northwest of Florence, in the municipality of Quarrata. A short distance from the entrance to the natural area there is a parking lot for visitors. Press P on the map for directions. The walking route shown on the map is about 3 km. The area is equipped with observation points, including camouflaged birdwatching hides and watchtower.

L'area è dotata di punti di osservazione, tra cui capanni mimetizzati per il birdwatching e altane, strategicamente posizionati tra prati umidi, fossi e specchi d'acqua.
