Langness has good seawatch viewpoints north and south. The east coast is rocky and good for Alpenkraai, Beflijster, Velduil, Kerkuil and Roodborsttapuit. The west coast has exposed mud and seaweed-strewn rock at low tide frequented by herons, egrets, Scholekster, Bergeend, Paarse Strandloper, Steenloper and Wulp. Rarities seen here include Kalanderleeuwerik, Bonapartes Strandloper and Zomertortel.

Isle of Man can be visited by ferry from Liverpoool, Heysham, Belfast or Dublin, or by air from several airports. Car park at Derbyhaven which is on a regular bus route, then short walk across to Langness. Or park on the island near the lighthouse. Be aware there is a golf course; dont obstruct play or become an accidental target.
