Wilde Zwaan, Grauwe Gans, Wilde Eend are abundant, Smient, Wintertaling, Grote Zaagbek are common, and the lake is one of the most reliable locations in Iceland for seeing the vagrant Amerikaanse Smient, Wintertaling (American), and Grote Gele Kwikstaart.
