The road towards Makara is a great route to search for many typical inland breeding species that inhabit the drier parts of the island, like Aziatische Steenpatrijs, Blonde Tapuit and Rotsklever. The rocky outcrops are a great spot for Blauwe Rotslijster and Bruinkeelortolaan. The small scattered bushes are good for migrating Paapje, Tapuit and Roodborsttapuit.
Further down the road, the road lies adjacent to a shallow valley with scattered trees, and several small groves. These areas are great for migrants, like Bijeneter, Hop, shrikes, warblers, swallows, swifts and flycatchers.
