Nea Agathoupoli is a wonderful site, with great numbers of a lot of interesting birds. One of those places where you feel that there is to much to see to handle.
From the observation tower you have a good view of the delta and the lagoons with sometimes big amounts of Woudaap, Roerdomp, Ralreiger, Kwak, Purperreiger, Zwarte Ibis and a lot of ducks and Witoogeend. In the surrounding area Wielewaal, Roodkopklauwier and Lachstern can be seen.

The observation tower is only open some days and parts of the day, Wednesday – Friday: 10:00- 14:00 + 2 Saturdays/month. But standing on the hill behind the tower works fine.
