Beschrijving
The lagoon is the 'waterlily lake' mentioned by Gerald Durrell in My Family and Other Animals. However it appeared lifeless on my September visit. The island has 3 beaches, accessible by car, and good scrub and heath habitat favoured by warblers, Grauwe Gors, Dwergooruil and Zomertortel. A pair of Steenarend were hunting over the wooded hills on return journey to Roda. Other birds you can enconter are Roodstuitzwaluw, Alpengierzwaluw, Rotszwaluw, Baardgrasmus, Kleine Zwartkop and Westelijke Orpheusgrasmus.
