Beschrijving
Part of the IBA GR077 Acheron delta and gorge (39o 15' N 20o 30' E). The coastal delta includes low, scrub-dominated hills and brackish marshes, the remainig one fourth of it still surviving the decades of draining and turning marshes into arable land. Human activities include arable agriculture, livestock-farming, recreation and hunting.
Birds you can see in the area include Duinpieper, Tapuit, Grauwe Vliegenvanger, Kleine Zwartkop, Cetti's Zanger, Fitis, Roodstuitzwaluw, Oostelijke Vale Spotvogel, Spotvogel, Grote Karekiet, Kleine Karekiet, Graszanger, Kuifleeuwerik, Baardman, Buidelmees, Grauwe Klauwier, Roodkopklauwier, Balkansperwer, Ralreiger, Woudaap, Dwergstern, Lachstern, Tureluur, Alpengierzwaluw, Vale Gierzwaluw, Witoogeend, etc.

The Acheron Delta lies some 30 minutes to the south of the Parga tourist resort, its entrance being the small resort of Ammoudia. Zoom in on the map and click on the "P" (parking) sign for driving directions.
