Around the Störrsperrwerk (flood barrage) many migrating birds rest and feed in the shallow waters. In the fields around the flood barrage, many other birds can be found. Among the birds you can encounter are Brandgans, Grauwe Gans, Bergeend, Wintertaling, Kievit, Goudplevier and Bonte Strandloper.
