Beschrijving
The developement of Rickelsbüller Koog Nature Reserve started in 1981 when the former salt marshes were artificially disconnected from the North Sea. The current wetland meadows with low vegetation are breeding sites for Tureluur , Grutto , Kemphaan , Zilvermeeuw , Brandgans and Kluut.
From autumn to early spring, the dyked area and the adjacent salt marshes on the dyke's sea-ward side are resting sites of Brandgans , Rotgans , Kanoet , Bonte Strandloper Wulp and Smient . Observation possibilities depend on the tides of the North Sea.
