You can walk directly at the river bank. You can see wintering or migrating ducks like Grote Zaagbek, Slobeend and Wintertaling. On the gravel banks, migrating waders like Oeverloper and Groenpootruiter are possible. Kleine Plevier , Zwarte Wouw , IJsvogel and Halsbandparkiet are breeding birds.
The whole year, you can watch gulls like Geelpootmeeuw and Zilvermeeuw. With luck, you may find Zwartkopmeeuw, Kleine Mantelmeeuw and Pontische Meeuw (regular in winter).
