Beschrijving

The quality of this birding spot mainly depends on the water-level, that is human-controlled and varies from year to year and also within the year. A dike sourrounds the area and is perfect for biking, walking and birdwatching. When the water levels allow, it is a very nice and attractive place for waders, ducks and other waterbirds, especially during Spring migration. It might be the best spot for waders, in the area. Especially Grutto can be observed in big numbers, including ssp. islandica. In winter big flocks of geese rest there.
