The small lake Mindelsee and its diversely structured shores host the highest number of breeding species in the whole region of Lake Constance (Bodensee).
The Witoogeend can be observed in autumn. A colony of Visdief nests on rafts in the lake. Also Waterral, Zwarte Wouw, Krooneend, Zwarte Specht, Grijskopspecht, Groene Specht, Middelste Bonte Specht, Boompieper, Snor, Kleine Karekiet, Nachtegaal and Wielewaal can be observed in breeding period. In winter Roerdomp and Grote Zaagbek may be of interest.

Toegang
Access by public transport: There is a bus from Radolfzell station to Möggingen. Markelfingen also has a train station.
Access by car: The most convenient parking lot is on the road between Radolfzell and Möggingen: "Parkplatz Mindelsee". Click on the P in the map to get directions. The circular trail around the lake that is shown on the map is about 9 km.
