Beschrijving
The two lakes of the Lychensee and Wiecker See offer a slight change of scenery on the Baltic spit of Fischland-Darß-Zingst, located in the middle of large meadows and agricultural fields. The area lies near the Vorpommersche Bodenlandschaft National Park.
Accordingly, you can find different bird species of open meadow habitats as well as waterfowl, seabirds and shorebirds. For example, this is a great spot to watch plenty of Veldleeuwerik and Spreeuw , but also Baardman. The lakes themselves have Krakeend , Smient , Kuifeend , Knobbelzwaan , Meerkoet , Kievit , Bonte Strandloper , Grote Zilverreiger , Blauwe Reiger and more.
Plus, both lakes accommodate herds of water buffalos. There are 2 observation platforms, one near each lake.
