Bird sanctuary of NABU where you can observe many birds and other animals in peace.
The nature reserve Kleiner Binnensee on the Baltic Sea has a size of 255 hectares and includes an inland Lake, adjacent salt and marsh meadows, a beach, embankment and dunes. From the car park you can go in two directions to the observation platforms. There are also information boards from the NABU (Birdlife-partner in Germany). If you want, you can also walk the entire circular route which is about 7 km.
The Kleiner Binnensee is located in the Plön district. By car, turn off the B 502 (Kiel - Oldenburg) at Matzwitz towards Behrensdorf to the Baltic Sea and from there drive towards the beach or towards Lippe - Hohwacht. There are parking spaces at both ends of the reserve. From the car park you can walk directly onto the circular path. Press P in the map for directions to the parking.
