Beschrijving
Originally created by monks, the upper and lower Kelzer Teich continue to be used for fish farming. All other bodies of water were created for nature conservation reasons. Kleine Karekiet, Dodaars and Waterral breed in the extensive reed beds. Boomvalk and Bruine Kiekendief hunt here and every year at migration time Visarend can be observed. Occasionally, rarities such as Roerdomp, Roodhalsfuut or Purperreiger are also reported. In winter the water from the ponds is drained.
