Beschrijving
The Hollerner See is a 30-hectare quarry lake that was created on the site of a former gravel pit. Although the lake was only completed in 2019 and there are many bathers in the summer, many species of birds have settled there. Different species of ducks, Fuut, Dodaars and Grauwe Gans can be found on the lake. The geese use the lake as a breeding and moulting ground.
In spring and summer Grote Karekiet, Kleine Karekiet, Rietgors and Woudaap breed in the reeds on the shore. Kleine Plevier and Oeverloper can often be seen on the small island. In the area around the lake you can see Fazant, Patrijs, Groene Specht and Geelgors all year round. Bosrietzanger, Spotvogel, Grasmus and Fitis in the summer months.
