The Engerser Feld is of international importance as a bird sanctuary and resting place for bird migration. It has a great biodiversity and many birds can be seen like Nonnetje, Roodhalsfuut, Oeverloper, Kleine Plevier, Witgat, Scholekster, Oeverzwaluw and IJsvogel.
