In the beginning of Ehemalige Rieselfelder Werne you pass a tiny forest, where you can find Winterkoning, Grote Bonte Specht and Groene Specht and some other forest species. In the winter you can see Grote Zilverreiger, Kolgans and sometimes even a Toendrarietgans. The biggest part of the area are fields that sometimes hold water. These fields are fenced, wich is good for Paapje and Roodborsttapuit. In the fields you can see Graspieper and Gele Kwikstaart you can watch even in the summer.

How good the area is for birding depends on how much water there is. If there is much water, it is good, if there is no water, you nearly see nothing. In 2016 Kleine Zilverreiger and in 2015 a Engelse Kwikstaart was recorded.
