Beschrijving
Böhmerweiher consists of two lakes. The smaller lake supports Dodaars, Waterhoen and Meerkoet. Wintertaling overwinter here. The larger lake often attracts visiting waterfowl in the winter: Grauwe Gans, Krakeend, Fuut, more rarely Smient, Bergeend or Grote Zaagbek. IJsvogel fish in both ponds.
In the gravel areas and streams surrounding the lakes Geelgors and Fitis sing from the bushes. Groene Specht feed on the ants. Waterral skulks on the banks. Kleine Karekiet and Rietgors populate the reeds in the spring and summer. Occasional visitors like the Hop can surprise you by stopping to rest during their migration.
Watersnip sometimes forage in the wet fields surrounding Böhmerweiher. And sometimes Slechtvalk hunt for prey.
