Beschrijving

The Beversee is a nutrient rich lake, originated from land sinking due to underground mining. Additionally many small round lakes can be found in the forest, originated from bombing of the second World War. the forest is inhabited by typical forest birds like Appelvink. The lake is resting and breeding habitat for many common species ranging from IJsvogel, Aalscholver to Kuifeend.

On the other side of the shipping channel you can visit on old farm, nowadays the biological station in the federal state "Kreis Unna". However, except some events, there is no special exhibition, just a small informative outdoor area. Behind the biological station there is a huge observation tower in the fields and floodplains of the river Lippe.
