Beschrijving
The Baggersee Grötzingen is a former gravel pit that is now part nature reserve, part recreational (fishing, bathing zone). In winter there are usually good numbers of Kuifeend, Krakeend, Wintertaling, Fuut, Blauwe Reiger and Aalscholver. They are sometimes joined by smaller numbers or individual Tafeleend, Brilduiker, Slobeend or Mandarijneend.
Most years, some more uncommon or rare species appear at some point during the winter. In recent years, Topper, Roodhalsfuut, Zwarte Zee-eend and Grote Zee-eend have all been seen here. The woods surrounding the lake are a good place to look out for less common woodland species, such as Grijskopspecht, Kleine Bonte Specht and Appelvink.
