Beschrijving
At the river Ahr are breeding Kleine Plevier and IJsvogel. In the floodplains are meadows, forests and a little reedbed. In the meadows are breeding Steenuil (10 territories in 2020). Grauwe Klauwier and Sprinkhaanzanger are possible breeding birds. In the forests are breeding Nachtegaal , Wielewaal and Middelste Bonte Specht. You can also see Zwarte Wouw and Boomvalk during breeding time. In the little reedbed are Kleine Karekiet and Bosrietzanger (also common next to the Ahr). Orpheusspotvogel and Spotvogel can also be found in the area.
During migration, you can see migratory birds like Visarend and Witgat. In winter you can see some wintering birds like Waterspreeuw.

Toegang
There is a train station in Linz (direct connections to Cologne and Koblenz), from where you have to cross the Rhine with the ferry to Kripp. Another train station is in Sinzig (direct connections to Bonn and Koblenz) from where you can go directly to the meadows at the southern edge of the area.
You can park in Kripp (follow the B9 until Kripp). The walking route you see on the map is about 7 km.
