Beschrijving
The islands of Iles Royales are not a birdwatching hotspot and are primarily interesting for the historical aspect of French Guiana. There are, however, some interesting sightings of coastal species to be made, as well as the observation of a resident Blue-and-yellow Macaw. You can also observe the behavior of the numerous capuchin monkeys and agoutis living on Iles Royales and observe the sea turtles, which are frequently seen surfacing in the immediate vicinity of the islands.

Français: Iles accessibles par bateau depuis Kourou, lieu surtout intéressant pour l'histoire mais aussi pour les espèces cotières. Les iles ne sont pas un hot-sport de l'ornithologie et elles sont surtout intéressantes pour le côté historique de la Guyane, il y a néamoins quelques observations intéressantes d'espèces cotières à faire ainsi que l'observation d'un ara bleue sédentaire. Vous pourrez également observé le comportement des nombreux capucins et agoutis vivants sur l'ile royale et observé les tortues vertes qui sont fréquement observé à la surface à proximité immédiates des iles.

The islands of Iles Royales are lying 17 km off the coast of Kourou. You can get there by ferry (see the link below) or you can contact a boat tour provider who will take you there by boat. You can stay on the islands for the day or for a longer period (2 days is more than enough).
