Phare de Gatteville is a unique site because it offers the possibility of seeing an incredible quantity of birds from the foot of the lighthouse. Sea birds essentially invisible on other sites apart from taking the boat! Depending on the weather and especially the wind it is possible to see endless passages of Drieteenmeeuw, Jan-van-gent and seabirds of all kinds.

Français: Par sa position stratégique il est possible de voir un flux important d'oiseaux venant de la mer du Nord et qui gagnent, via La Manche, l'océan Atlantique. C'est un site unique car il offre la possibilité de voir une quantité incroyable d'oiseaux en birdwatching depuis le pied du phare. Des oiseaux marins essentiellement non visibles sur d'autres sites à part de prendre le bateau ! En fonction de la météo et surtout du vent il est possible de voir des passages incessant de mouettes tridactyles, de fou de bassant, d'alcidés en tout genre.
