Omaha Beach is a very beautiful beach in Normandy. The beach was one of the invasion beaches during D-Day in World War II. Two thirds of the seaborne troops from the United States on D-Day were launched here.
Today the beach is a nice place for birding. You can observe many gulls and other birds. For example Drieteenstrandloper, Kokmeeuw, Grote Mantelmeeuw, Grote Stern, Graszanger, Zwarte Zee-eend and Jan-van-gent. Behind the beach you can find marshes and ponds.
