Le Champ Virlois is interesting for several reedbed species, including Blauwborst, Grote Karekiet, Rietzanger, Woudaap, Waterral and Bruine Kiekendief. Buidelmees has been spotted in stopover and crakes are possible.
In the surrounding forests Goudvink, Boomvalk, Fitis and Zwarte Wouw are quite easy to see. Griel and Brilduiker can be found at the surrounding gravel pits.
