Observatoire de l'étang Ricot is a good bird hide for observing reed birds like Woudaap en Kleine Karekiet in spring and summer. Also a good observation point for the European Pond Turtle (Emys orbicularis). In winter, different species of ducks and Meerkoet overwinter in the lake. With luck, a Roerdomp or deer may cross the pond. Observation is recommended in the morning and late afternoon. Other birds you can encounter are Bruine Kiekendief, Witwangstern, Kwak, Kleine Zilverreiger, Waterral, Nachtegaal and Zomertortel.

Français: L'observatoire offre une vue plongeante sur un étang ancien dont la roselière abrite des espèces spécifiques. Blongios nain, Rousserolle effarvatte en été. Bon point d'observation pour la Cistude d'Europe. En hiver, canards et foulques se partagent l'espace. La chance aidant, un Butor étoilé ou des cerfs peuvent traverser l'étang. Observation : recommandée le matin et en fin d'après-midi.
