Étang du Boulet is located on an important migratory route. Due to its size and environment, it is an interesting site with different species of migratory birds. The species observed adapt remarkably well to the diversity of the environment: during the low-water period when the level is lowest: waders (Temmincks Strandloper, Witgat, Bontbekplevier, Zilverplevier), forest birds in the Bourgouët woods to the north of the pond. The winter period is ideal for observing passerines (Zwartkop, Kneu, Boomklever), woodpeckers (Grote Bonte Specht, Kleine Bonte Specht, Zwarte Specht) and raptors (Wespendief, Visarend, Sperwer).

Français: Etang de 150 ha, divisé en 3 ensembles aux caractéristiques bien dissociées: 1 plan d'eau principal et 2 queues d'étang interdites au public. L'étang se trouve sur une voie migratrice importante. De par sa taille et son environnement, il constitue un site intéressant pour accueillir différentes espèces d'oiseaux de passage.
Les espèces observées s'adaptent remarquablement à la diversité du milieu: durant la période d'étiage où le niveau est le plus bas: les limicoles (Temmincks Strandloper, Witgat, Bontbekplevier, Zilverplevier), des oiseaux forestiers dans le bois de Bourgouët au nord de l'étang. La période hivernale est idéale pour observer des passereaux (Zwartkop, Kneu, Boomklever), des pics (Grote Bonte Specht, Kleine Bonte Specht, Zwarte Specht), des rapaces (Wespendief, Visarend, Sperwer).

Toegang
Étang du Boulet is located 25 km north of Rennes. Park in the parking lot of the nautical center at the place called La Bijouterie (access by the Marcillé-Raoul road). Press P on the map for directions to the parking. From the parking you can explore the area on foot. Take the path to the right of the beach. The circuit is a 6.2 km loop around the pond, allow 2 hours of walking to go around. The circuit is flat and easy.

Français: Se garer sur le parking aménagé de la base nautique au lieu-dit La Bijouterie (accès par le route de Marcillé-Raoul). Rejoindre le centre nautique et prendre le chemin à droite de la plage. Le circuit fait une boucle de 6.2 km autour de l'étang, prévoir 2h de marche pour faire le tour. Le circuit est plat et facile.
