The Capbreton Casino Waterfront is an excellent seawatching spot during autumn migration. Especially during eastward incoming storms. Rosse Franjepoot, Middelste Jager, Kleine Jager, Vorkstaartmeeuw, Grote Pijlstormvogel, Grauwe Pijlstormvogel, Vale Pijlstormvogel, Stormvogeltje, Vaal Stormvogeltje, Zwarte Stern and Noordse Stern are the target species when strong westerlies blow individuals to the beach.
Hossegor Lake is to check during autumn gales as Vaal Stormvogeltje and other pelagic birds can seek shelter in the lake. The lake is also used as a roosting place for gulls in winter
