Tissø is the 4th largest freshwater lake in Denmark. It is easy to acces and overlook. Tissø is home to a rich and varied birdlife and Zeearend breeds here and it is easy to see. Also Visarend can be seen. On the lake itself Fuut, Grote Zaagbek, various dabbling and diving ducks, geese and Meerkoet are usual residents. The beach meadows and reed beds house many foraging and breeding birds like Kluut, Dwergstern, Rietgors, Bruine Kiekendief in addition to Roerdomp, Baardman and Sprinkhaanzanger.

Almost all of the lakeside is on private hands, but there is a publicly accessible birdwatching tower near Fugledegård. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking. From there it's a 500 meter walk to the observation tower.
