The reserve (called 'Baltata') is old natural forest next to Albena Resort and is good place to see Grijskopspecht, Groene Specht, Grote Bonte Specht, Middelste Bonte Specht, Kleine Bonte Specht and sometimes - Zwarte Specht, and other forest birds from the asphalt paths of the resort. The terrace of the tallest building of the resort (Dobrudzha Hotel) is an excellent watch point to observe the flow of migrating Roze Pelikaan and almost all raptor species of Europe. Kleine Vliegenvanger, Gekraagde Roodstaart and other passerine birds cross the area during migration as well.
