Prés de Grand Rieux is a nature reserve that is part of a chain of wetlands that occupy the bottom of the Haine Valley. It's a site where you can observe wetland birds up close, and it's very close to several other notable sites in the area, such as the Marionville Nature Reserve, the Harchies Marshes, and the Stambruges Forest. A path circles the site, and there's also an observation point overlooking the main body of water. You can observe birds typical of wetlands and forests, such as Blauwborst, Sprinkhaanzanger, Cetti's Zanger, Rietzanger and Nachtegaal.

Français: Un écrin de nature dans l'ombre de l'autoroute. Cette réserve naturelle fait partie d'un chapelet de zones humides qui occupent le fond de la vallée de la Haine. C'est un site où l'on peut observer les oiseaux des zones humides de près, et il se trouve très proches de plusieurs autres sites notables des environs comme la réserve naturelle de Marionville, les Marais d'Harchies, ou la forêt de Stambruges. Un sentier fait le tour du site, et il y a aussi un observatoire donnant sur le plan d'eau principal. Prés de Grand Rieux is located west of the town of Mons. It can be accessed by bicycle via the RAVeL Bord de Haine path, or via Rue des Bats. There isn't really a parking lot; you have to park on the side of the road. The reserve's path (about 2,5 km) is a dirt path and passable on foot. Given the nature of the site, it is muddy in places.

Français: On peut y accéder à vélo par le RAVel Bord de Haine, ou par la rue des Bats. Il n'y a pas vraiment de parking, il faut se stationner sur le bord de la route. Le sentier de la réserve est en terre battue, et praticable à pieds. Vu la nature du site il est boueux par endroit.
