Only 15 km from Innsbruck, the Inzinger Gaisau is one of the last floodplains in the Inn Valley. It has ponds, woodlands, agricultural fields, wet meadows, reedbeds and borders the shores of the river Inn. This makes Inzinger Gaisau rich in habitats and therefore rich in birds.
Birds you can see here are Kramsvogel, Fitis, Grote Zaagbek, IJsvogel, Witgat, Spotvogel Zwartkop, Kleine Bonte Specht and both Taigaboomkruiper and Boomkruiper and many species of tits. In winter sometimes you can encounter large flocks of Putter, Sijs, and in late winter Keep.
On the northern waters edge you have a good view on meadows and reedbeds. You can find Paapje here and with some luck Zwarte Wouw. On the pond you can see Dodaars and different kinds of ducks. Around the reedbeds check for Waterral, Rietgors, Kleine Karekiet, Grote Karekiet and Rietzanger.
