This is a great walk and easy to reach by tram. You can see many different habitats typical of Austria with its birds.

Beschrijving

The walk starts at the pond of Hilmteich with almost always Wilde Eend. From the pond you walk up to the beech forest where you can encounter Zwarte Specht, Grote Bonte Specht, Boomklever, Taigaboomkruiper, Withalsvliegenvanger and different species of finches and tits. This walk is really interesting and easy for starting bird watchers (and their kids!).

There are no parking spaces in Hilmteich, but you can easily reach this location via tram, and come back via tram too from Mariatrost. The route is 5 km long (one way).
