Beschrijving
Samphire Cove Trail is a 1.5 kilometre (return) easy walk through the fascinating environment fringing the Peel Inlet, near Mandurah. Creery Wetlands is part of the RAMSAR Peel-Yalgorup System. There is a boardwalk over the wetlands to conserve the delicate vegetation.
The Samphire Cove trail takes you through the gated nature reserve, and continues on to a long boardwalk over the wetlands, with a viewing platform and information panels at the end. It is an excellent spot for bird watching and nature appreciation generally. During summer small numbers of migratory shorebirds are often present; particularly Whimbrel and Eastern Curlew.
Mandurah's samphire areas are a fascinating and enjoyable environment to explore. Scenic boardwalks, two bird hides (one with all-abilities access), paver art installations (recently restored) and an information shelter make this reserve attractive and user-friendly. No dogs are allowed due to ground nesting species being often present.
