Beschrijving

The Water Gardens are a small stretch of parkland in the village of Pine Creek. The area was created from old railway tracks that were pulled up, the trenches then becoming water ponds. The Water Gardens are a magnet for birds and the site is a reliable spot to observe Hooded Parrot. The gardens are small but the birds seem very comfortable around people, making for excellent viewing and photography opportunities.

Beyond the Hooded Parrot, you can spot many species of honeyeaters. Other birds that can be observed include Rainbow Bee-eater, Straw-necked Ibis, Plumed Egret, Masked Lapwing, Blue-winged Kookaburra, Sacred Kingfisher, Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo, Great Bowerbird, Red-collared Lorikeet, Red-winged Parrot, and Grey-crowned Babbler.
