Beschrijving

Granite Island is a small rocky island that can be reached by a bridge, either on foot or by horse-drawn tram. On the mainland side you can see the influences of the tides. At low tide you can encounter different types of waders. The south side of the island has a somewhat rougher rocky coast. The island is particularly known for the colony of Little Penguin. Around November you can hear the young here in the evening. When it gets dark the parents come back from the sea to feed the young.
