Beschrijving

Blue Gum Hills Regional Park is a bushland area with large open spaces for recreation and trails that wind through eucalyptus forests and past remnants of the area's mining heritage, including a historic brick ventilation tower. The park contains a mix of natural native vegetation, rehabilitated vegetation and cleared areas. A minor watercourse drains the park and there are several small shallow man-made ponds.

The range of habitat types is attractive for birds and during any visit to the park, a range of bird species can be readily found. Birds you can observe include Bell Miner, Noisy Miner, Satin Bowerbird, Australian King-Parrot, Eastern Rosella, Lewin's Honeyeater, Scarlet Honeyeater, Eastern Whipbird, Grey Shrikethrush and Olive-backed Oriole.
