58 hectare SSSI with lowlying meadows which flood in winter when river Severn overflows. Winter wildfowl and owls in adjoining farmland.
When Walmore Common floods it is a sheltered spot for жолтоклун лебед, мал лебед, dabbling ducks, калуѓерка, златно блатарче, голем српоклун свиркач, обичен свиркач, обична бекасина and мала бекасина. There are кукумјавка, Шумски (Обичен) був and Кукавија in the area all year round. Sylvia and leaf warbers breed. обично ливадарче and Жолта тресиопашка pass on migration. The Severn bore tidal wave can be viewed from the pub nearby.
Located north of the A48 Chepstow to Gloucester road which is a regular bus route. Park near Chaxhill primary school and follow footpath nearby to view. Further access from Lower Ley. Park at T-junction shown and walk west for 3/4 mile.
