Swallow Moss is a wind swept and wild moorland landscape with upland heather and peat bogs located on an altitude of 350 metres. There are rocky gritstone outcrops, exposed hill tops, drystone walls. On lower ground there are rushy pastures, hay meadows and woodland. Among the birds you can encounter are голем српоклун свиркач, Red Grouse, белограден ќос, Полска еја, блатен був and мала бекасина.
