Description

Shut Heath Wood is known for its large old Oaks Standards. Also Sweet Chestnuts, Hornbeam coppice and Hazel. The south east corner can lay wet most of the year and can attract шумска шљука. The many old standing dead trees are great for woodpecker species, Обичен (Шумски) лазач and even мал клукајдрвец. This is one of the key species of this small woodland and does attract birdwatchers in early spring. Winter and early spring is a handy because of the leafless trees.

Finches high in the canopy, small bands of mixed tits, жолтоглаво кралче and обичен ползач. Will keep any birder head spinning from tree to tree. I recommend early mornings every time , nice and quiet, so you can listen out for all the above species.
