Description

Dimminsdale Nature Reserve is owned by Severn Trent Water and managed by Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust, BE WARNED, the site has many deep pools and old mine shafts, please keep to marked paths. The area is highly likely to be wet and muddy, there are some steep paths and wooden boardwalks/bridges. During Spring the reserve gets very popular with walkers when Snowdrops (Galanthus) are in flower. During March Brown Hare (Lepus europaeus) can be seen in the surrounding meadows. NOTE there is NO ACCESS to the meadows on the South and Eastern sides of the reserve, please keep to signed footpaths only.

The pools can attract Canada Goose, патка берија and цуцулест кожувар from nearby Staunton Harold Reservoir (see separate entry), being the most common, among other birds are Обичен (Шумски) лазач, зелен клукајдрвец, голем клукајдрвец and жолтоглаво кралче. During Summer црноглаво грмушарче, обичен свиркач and the occasional црноглаво муварче occur.
