Broadsands is situated to the South of the towns of Paignton and Torquay, the whole bay is East facing and is therefore sheltered from prevailing winds.
Broadsands has a shallow sheltered bay that attracts Grebes/Divers/Sea Ducks and many other maritime species that can be viewed reasonably close to shore, the beach is stoney rather than sandy and has a wide promenade making views easier. The North and South ends of the bay are more rocky. Just behind the promenade are two interconnected car parks. To gain more views of the bay the South West Coast Path runs towards Elbury Cove to the South. Behind the car parks are a number of trees/shrubs and a small reed bed. In the back car park the RSPB has instigated a seed feeding area that is a good spot for црногрла стрнарка.
From the centre of Paignton take the A379, look out for a left turn into Broadsands Road, at the very end is Broadsands Car Park on the left.
