Berney Marshes and Breydon Water

Breydon Water is a large tidal estuary, mostly mudflats, surrounded by grazing marshes. Berney marshes is at the meeting point of the Yare and Waveney Rivers.

Description

Berney Marshes and Breydon Water attract thousands of waders and waterfowls in winter. Birds are usually distant in the mudflats when the tide is low. In summer сабјарка, црвенонога тринга and калуѓерка breed in the reserve.

Access

Berney Marshes Reserve: by foot (Weaver's way trail) or train (Berney Arms station) only. Strictly no car access. Breydon Water: by foot (a trail runs all around the estuary, Weaver's Way and Angle's way), train (Great Yarmouth station) or by car (stop at Burgh Castle or at Asda Great Yarmouth).
