This National Park of 225-square-kilometre in Dubai is the biggest nature reserve in the United Arab Emirates.
The Al Marmoon Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve is a 225-square-kilometre nature reserve. Carefully planned rehabilitation over the years has resulted in a protected environment for the last of the desert wildernesses. Al Marmoon is the place to visit if you want to combine bird watching with a visit to the desert. Note: the only way to visit the reserve is with an organized tour or staying in hotel Al Maha. Only the tour operator Platinum Heritage is allowed to organize tours here. I can highly recommend the morning tour with breakfast as you will see more on this tour than other activities. A tour with Platinum Heritage is worth the money. Or if your budget allows it, stay in the Al Maha Hotel.
Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve is only accessible with tour operator Platinum Heritage or if you are staying at the Al Maha hotel.
Platinum Heritage takes you to interesting places, where you can also spot Oryx, Arabian Gazelle and Arabia Sand Gazelle. If you indicate your interest in birdwatching prior to the tour, the guide will take you to the most interesting birdwatching spots. See the links below for more details on dates, tours and prices.
